Founder and Editor in Chief at Flat Ink Magazine, Editor for Communications at Dear Asian Youth, Prose Reader and Staff Writer at the Farside Review, and Studio Assistant to 신 선 영 Sun Yung Shin 

Dilara Alimata Sümbül is from the Mission District of San Francisco. She is the editor-in-chief of Flat Ink, an editor at Dear Asian Youth, and a reader at the Farside Review. She is a Turkish American with partial Kazakh ancestry, and grew up working class and Sufi Muslim. Her work has been recognized by the Leyla Beban Young Authors Foundation and Michigan Youth Empowerment. Most of her writing focuses on character and atmosphere, specifically with emphasis on different forms of connection.
